A Prayer A prayer to satisfy my hunger A hunger that started with pain A sonnet, a whisper, a glancing star Just to smell your essence again, If i could hold you for just one moment One moment a fraction of precious time I could live in that moment forever Just to know that you are mine, I am standing on the outside You do not even see me but brush me aside If only you knew of the heartache i feel The emptiness that is deep inside, Beautiful lady of lament My life loving you has been well spent As i hold out my hand and take hold of yours Show me that you love me Please just open the door, My beautiful lady has gone now And the sorrow she left is done What on earth will i do without her My precious darling Mum... Annie. |
