Where to when we die?
Some say “Heaven”
and some, well, think it’s Hell,
and for some,
could be somewhere in the sky.
but how many people know for sure?
How many have worked it out
and know who they are,
where they are going
and what they will do once there?

Now dying is pretty serious business:
it’s a big-time move -
would one go to an airport and say:
“Can I please get on a plane?”
In the real world, you need a ticket,
and a destination, at the very least.
Does “dying” remove responsibility
for what comes next?

So there go the earth Humans
without a clue out into the Cosmos.
No idea where they wish to go
nor how to get there.
And if they do get there,
what do they use for a resume
when asked what they’d like to do?
Looked at this way,
doesn’t it seem rather silly?
No wonder there are so many Humans
crowding each other here!

They go out into the cosmos
thinking that “others” will take them home
not knowing what that is –
so they are put on a great return loop
and when their turn comes
out they pop, back on Earth again...
and again... and again...
and for most, none the wiser.

A very intriguing question Wind Walker,
I guess we will just have to wait and see

when our time is up. Enjoyed the read.
Take care my friend.

As in Buddhist thought, I'd like to embrace re-incarnation, though must admit there are thousands, maybe millions, of really mean disgusting people I'd rather didn't return unless they come back as placid gentle spirits.

I'm generally compassionate, but lately have lost patience with ignorant, mean-spirited self-centered people.

Thought provoking write, WW. I don't believe in heaven or hell, but if I did? I think hell might be crowded compared to heaven.

Yo WindWalker,

You're not going anywhere young man, until you take out the garbage.

I believe that we keep returning until we get it right. lol

My own poem expresses my thoughts.

I Am Immortal

I am immortal.
Tho' this weary flesh be no more,
The inner me lives on.
For I am of the Eternal Light.
The flame within may brighten and dim,
But it will never die.
I come and I go,
I am and I am not.
As I have always been,
So shall I be again.
Same book ~ different cover,
Tho' hopefully improved
Each time the story's written.

by Linda L. Dowd

Enjoyed reading your poetic ponderings ~ as per usual!

Love & Eternal Light,

EA
