Oh, giant tree
I am the river at your feet
and come to you with worship words
in water’s edge whispers and quiet tears
for I have suffered over rocky shores
just to meet you here
in the comfort of your forest

I was born of Light
to search the darkness for your thirst
and offer the mystery of my depths
where you could know my heart
and hear the angels rejoice
in our commune

In the waning light this grass moon night
I must flow onward to the sea
but I will always truly be
your ebb and flood surround
and when I’m lifted to the clouds
you’ll know my rain upon your boughs
in sweet caress

Oh, giant tree
I am your river
forever

...this is a lovely stanza to a write filled with subtle meaning and beautiful tribute to things we are more likely to overlook than observe...thank you for drawing our minds to this lovely scene...and for drawing this lovely scene for our minds

I agree with steavenr

you’ll know my rain upon your boughs

Very nice and original.
