 Artist: Sophie Anderson Dear Muse by Linda L. Dowd The passion burns within me, for composing the perfect poem. But my feathered quill equivocates, ~ Be it nature, heart, or home? Should I write of fairy realms, to stir the imagination? ~ Or poems with a spiritual bent? ~ Or ones of inspiration? My youthful inner child, could write rhymes of fun and play. ~ Where gaiety and laughter, are the order of the day. At times I pen poetic forms. ~ While at others ~ none at all. My muse is quite capricious, and often makes the call! What fine poetic treasures, might there be in her word purse? ~ Romantic ones from days of yore? ~ Or contemporary verse? I write stories from the Dark Side, and songs from Side of Light. But today I am confounded, as to which genre I should write! ~ * ~ Dear Muse, If you happen to be listening, I am asking this of you, Help me write the perfect poem, ~ ‘Cause I don’t know what to do! . I see your muse standing there like a 60's girl with sleek hair, head tilted, eyes glancing skyward, as she taps her forefinger against her lips.
