Expecting

Good with the bad as April
brings signs of life,
yet knowing
to expect the unexpected
that aging brings.

April is my birthday month, so I am aging as well as expecting the unexpected. lol

But I think the trick is to appreciate the unexpected. (and hopefully it will be a nice surprise too *S*)

P.S. What does the 'an even 20' signify?

Chalmette Guy, An even 20 means  I used only 20 words... there is a poet on here that  was/is excellent in writing  a less than 20 poem.

SEA, well  it seems as I get older so  do those nearest and dearest to me and the losses just continue...I lost another relative yesterday and even though I know it is going to happen some day to each of us it still makes it hard to take.
Thanks,
M

Offering a gentle hug and peaceful thoughts.

April is always a mixed bag of tricks.
I'm happy we have sunshine today, personally thankful for the gift of another day to plant some blooming flowers.

April is the month of transformation and rebirth. Your loved one (was it your brother-in-law?) has transformed and is experiencing a rebirth. God speed.

Linda it was my Uncle (one of my mother's brothers). They are all in their mid 80's to upper 90's and as expected, their lives have been very full, but age is getting the best of them year by year.

My brother-in-law is still having his daily radiation and bi-weekly chemo.

Thank you for your thoughts. I have a 3 hr drive each way to the funeral tomorrow.

April is my favourite month too; aging is an unstoppable natural phenomenon.

An even twenty is a good idea but it doesn't matter how many words you use you still manage to encapsulate magic within.

I like this very much... I'm so sorry for your loss... it does seem that the unexpected is often unpleasant as we get older.

Once again, thank you everyone. The cemetery is becoming a ritul of late. I sometimes do my best thinking there.
