Summer runaways The birds are carrying the twigs to the trees of new nests. The undulating hunger inside the belly of a snake makes the reptile come out; the streak of forked tongue licks raw sun. in this chain, where does he stand? He is not sure he understands. The summer girl from the neighborhood entangles him; licks him; consumes him like a ball of pink candy floss. He knows of that hunger; he knows of hypnosis. Sadly,- he cannot dream of a nest; sadly,- he doubts the snake. “Runaway. P L E A S E.” But her dad is in local police. Runaway in the summer does burn a slow fire. He looks up at the tree. The eggs of the dreams are being eaten. Evening of summer sweats into the night, undecided. =© 2009 - All Rights Reserved Kushal Poddar clever talks delay friendship! |

Yo Poddarku, This “summer girl” is intriguing. Has she snared the bird? In the line: “in this chain, where does he stand?” I’d capitalize the “I”. Bobby |

Exquisite and brilliant, as always. I would advise against running away. New egg dreams can be laid and made real. You are a wordsmith of the highest calibre. Owl |
