           Stonehenge (#2)

An air of overwhelming melancholy
and most profound antiquity
entangled in our deep ancestral
   memories,
long-abandoned dreams,
and spirits of the dead,
surrounds these standing stones
which speak of so much wisdom lost,
while beneath this primal rock and clay...
skin of Gaia...an attenuated
heartbeat of a dying planet
seeks connection and reclamation
through resonance with our souls.

Nice! But those same rocks stand as a testament to human resilience and fortitude.

A very philosophical piece, which makes me think of the A303 as a sword slash, across the breast of Salisbury Plain.
