Damn Wawa is always daring Bones into doing crazy stuff, like climbing one of the catenaries on the Ben Franklin Bridge* across their Delaware River. Bones goes for it. He figures he can make it. Looking at the bridge from down below, Bones plans his assent. Bones always was good with heights. He climbs up there, and the winds blowing like crazy. He nearly gets blown off the cable sheath. He’s a strong boy, and he hangs on tight. Bones runs out of steam about halfway up to the first tower. By this time, Wawa’s gotten bored, and went on home. So Bones can come down, and tell Wawa he made it all the way to the first tower. Bones always was good with a lie. Man that's quite a piece of work that bridge. Some of your engineering background coming out in this one Bobby? Good story, I could feel the wind and I for one wouldn't try that one but then I'm not young anymore. Bones took advantage of the opportunity to get ahead of wawa. Eric |

Thanks Eric, Yes, it's a beautiful bridge. It used to be the longest suspension bridge in the world when it was finished in 1926. Fifteen workers lost their lives in building the bridge. Such projects are not without their cost in human suffering. Bobby |

Man, you've got more guts than me. I get scared on the first rung of a ladder. Billie C. |

Thanks dear Billie C., It was a friend of mine that did the climb, one of the models for Bones, the one that's still alive. I must say however, I've always been okay with climbing. I used to do a lot of it before I retired. Love Bobby |
