in the shadows

When you were young,
yearning for the burning taste of fear,
demanding in your wishes of being helpless
and submissive in your dreams,
I treated you to soft ropes' illusion of chains,
careful to avoid life's pains
just beyond fuzzy edges of lust's distorted lens
in shadow's nightmare theater of heart's desires
where your mostly muffled screams were filled with ecstasy,
and I wondered how future paths would bend to meet your needs.

Now nothing's left to fill places love was taking
in spaces scattered amongst weeds
where once were flowers growing
between stepping stones leading
through life's maze of wandering
in empty fields once filled with bounty
of reality's wishes and dreams.

I enjoyed how the beginning started with the greatness, then it lead to the less light in the poem... Very poetic

Oh my goodness, you are such an extraordinary poet.

I especially liked the idea of being submissive to our dreams,
and the fuzzy edges of lusts distorted lens.

Bravo bravo, Sir, you are the man!!
