The sun rose Over a blue sea A strong young man His first love still asleep Under a summer sky You didn’t Give your name At the front desk Wanting it to be A surprise Yet I have known For decades that you again Would reappear one day And this moment would be An embarrassment for The both of us After all We have very Different memories And perspectives on Our past What happiness I’ve known and I’ve known much with her Had your not being here At its core The office lights Shine on beautiful Portraits looking on A ship’s bell clock With subtle hints Ticking the hour . |
