When a sense is lost other senses heighten More acute to sensitive stimuli The feeling of loss serves to frighten Improved as darkness takes the sight Touch becomes all the more real In many forms can this be shown Alternate ways one may feel Sensations fantastically owned A curse this can sometimes be Yet a pleasure to some, so inclined The sight is lost in utter finality Though the feelings otherwise refined Amazing how one survives the other To replace one and even strengthen Become all the more potent lover By the many ways you can touch them |

May all lovers touch with the sensitivity of one who is blind. The fingertips of the sightless can 'see' what their eyes cannot. A tender, sensitive piece of writing. Linda |

smiling softly at EA's response... chuckling at SEA's... and agreeing with both. *G* but... back to your amazing poem. *S* It means a lot to me... my aunt was blind... and I've often wished people would "see" me as kindly as she did. *S* And when intimacy is involved, sight may be the least important (and most deceptive) of our senses. And... I'm rambling. *S* I love the rhymes... this is truly beautiful. And as you may have guessed... it touched this heart. *S* |
