Bones is a hard
and calloused child.

Forged and beaten on
the anvil of the streets—
he’s as tough,
and resilient
as tempered steel.

Thanks Critical mass,

I'm very happy that the poem worked that way for you.

Thanks dear Juju,

Let's not forget, tempered steel is good, strong, and serves many purposes.

Yep, too true.
Bones has to be tough and ready for anything that might challenge him.
Hang in there Bones!

Thanks Eric,

Yes, Bones will always do just fine.  He's a good soldier.

Thanks dear Linda,

What you say is true.

It puts me in mind of one of my Grandsons who has two parents that drink.

He kind of takes care of things.

Bobby - Yes, I must agree that Bones is as hard as tempered steel. With all the trials and tribulations he's been through he has to be just to survive. Know some of the feelings well I do...

Thanks Bill,

Bones and I thank you for your concern, and kind comments.

It's a pity that you know some of Bones feelings.

Bones and I are both sorry to hear that.

It does help to know however, that Bones is not alone.

Thanks Yann,

The forging of Bones character, by what happens to him on the street, is strictly involuntary.

The only “love” involved is the love of life.  Bones wants to live, he doesn’t what to be defeated by the street, and just curl up and die.
