Can you believe it,
I’ve been robbed.

Right here in my beloved hood.

Someone broke into my car,
and stole the ignition system.

It’s a 98 Acura.

I’ve heard those cars are prone to theft,
because the parts also fit Hondas.

This is the first time
anything’s happened to that car
since I bought it new in 1998.

I turned off the alarm system
about five years ago,
because it was always going off,
and waking up me and the neighbors.

Well, it’s new car time anyway.

Nah, I'll just get it fixed, and
have the alarm put back in.

I just hope that whoever
pulled the theft off
needed the money.

That wouldn’t bother me at all,
as I’m not a poor man,
thank God.

I’ve called the police.

Bobby

Bobby dear,

This is your hood.  It's what you have loved and hated and lived and cried in.  It's the world you love.

I am glad it's only your car though.

I have always hoped that poeple need it if they steel it.  My younger brother steals though.  He shouldn't cause mom and dad buy him what ever he wants.

Thanks dear Juju,

Don't worry too much about your younger brother.  A lot of young people steal, they get over it in time.

People are poor in this city hood.  I don't feel bad.  I am going to put an alarm in the car though, and move my bedroom to the front second floor room, so I can hear it if it goes off.  I don't want to catch anyone, just scare them off.

Thanks dear Alison,

I don't know what happened to the message I just sent you.

Anyway.

Yes, it is my beloved hood, and I will stay here until I die.  I wouldn't live anywhere else.

Always a shock when you have been violated like that. Your personal space invaded for unlawful reasons.
Bones can call the police as many times as he wants but chances are he'll have to stock it up to another of life's experiences.

Good luck car shopping Bones......smile

Eric

PS leave the alarm hooked up.

Thanks Eric,

You know, I think I will leave the alarm on.  Bones is never too old to learn new tricks.

Thanks for the good wishes.

I'm so sorry this happened... but like this solution... too many people rush to dispose of things that still have plenty of life and use to offer. *S*

Stay safe, Bones/Bobby. *S*

Thanks dear Suthern,

Yes, I agree.  The car is 11 years old, but only has about 50,000 miles on it.  It was running beautifully until someone stole the fuel injectors.  I just had it towed to the dealer.  They are good people.

I think the items stolen from the engine are probably in great demand.

I also know that no one in this neighborhood would do something like this to an old working boy like me.

Thanks Yann,

You are very correct.  I don't know who did this, or why.  I found out this morning that not much was taken.  Someone from the hood probably scared the thief off.

Bobby - sorry to hear about the robbery, perhaps a new used auto is in the works. Then again, I know of a good buy, let me know if you're interested...

Thanks Lindsay,

Yes, you are correct, it could have been much worse.  I've recovered already, it didn't take long.

Thanks for your kind concern Lindsay.

Bobbus,

I like your style of poetry.

It's good you can see their side of the story. Not many humans are compassionate or insightful enough to pull off such a feat.

Thanks Paul,

It turns out nothing was stolen.  Most likely it was just kids playing tricks, or practicing for bigger things.

I can't be too critical, as I was no angel when I was young.  It was something I would have done.
