Oh how Teen Romance is utterly useless. |

Glancing at your phone Waiting for the call, You know isn’t coming. No matter how sure you are. Still waiting; Drifting off to sleep. Trying to dream of something else, Not of his face. Or her voice; Things you thought were serious. Seem too easy to mess up. The next day; That dreaded eye contact. Snapping your stare to the ground; Wishing you hadn’t looked. Every little thing reminds you of them. From a girl’s laugh, To the guy behind you in biology, Opening your locker, A note slips from the cracks. “We need to talk” Unsure you fold it up slowly. Bracing yourself for the night ahead, Waiting for the call; You know is coming. |

Oh, Preston, those words "We need to talk." ~ can chill one to the bone. I hope that phone call never came. Very well-written! Linda |

You couldn't pay me to be a teen again. This made me feel all those difficult moments from long ago. Nice write! |

You caught this so well, but I think it is not useless, it all makes for experience and learning. It becomes embarassing later when we think back. Love, Margherita |
