In simple truth, told; one day, we shall die;
on our destined graves, as yet, Nettles bear flower.
There, we shall sleep in the warmth of the soft earth;
from days, then, long past; as a small memory.
So, for now; let us live our sweet love to the full;
let me not squander but, one precious hour;
but hold in perfection, for a moment in time;
such sweet delight you have gifted to me.

Here, I shall paint my love's picture in rhyming words;
your face, your soft smile; your beautiful eyes.
And bring to the light, from the depths of my heart
all of the joy, that to me, you have given.
Yet, were these words seen in the far-distant future;
those, who might read would say
"This poet lies."
"No Mortal Woman possessed beauty such as this;
such beauty could be found only in Heaven."

I would not take issue, if such were then, spoken;
for, I fly to heaven, when you are with me.
A dream far beyond any dreaming of Mortal man;
few can say they have shared an Angel's heart.
You have my Love, it is yours for the keeping; for now and forever,
'till Eternity,
and, such words I seek are not there for the speaking;
for, such words; none, but the soul can impart.

And, so; perhaps, I cannot paint my love's picture;
such words that I write, would, but faint shadow, be.
Almost like chasing the end of a rainbow;
but, in my heart,
such a picture, I see.

I wish I can construct poems like you do.
I really like the way that you do this.

Your pen, your lovely pen, traces, and shapes, every outline, and curve of her, I agree words cannot compare to reality, to touch, smell, feel, taste, but sometimes even in seeing we miss the true beauty of ones soul, and you show us more detail, beyond a painting...you bring it to life!

"Lie some more!" ....lol

A lady could get use to these kind of lies! lol

A beautiful poem for a much beloved one.

A poem I can deeply empathise with, for I have often attempted to craft my beloved's beauty into words and wondered if down the ages a jaded literary student will think 'This Poet Lies'...

Our words do not lie as they come from our hearts and our hearts speak the truth.

Never sigh for a better world, it's already composed, played and told.
