As I look at this world and its poison, As I drink in the filth it spews, As I stand alone against the ignorant mass, AS I realise it is all my fault. I can't abide by the rules of this world, The decadent belief in getting what you wish, The cancerous consumerism that we all slave to Driving us all ever closer to oblivion. But I shall not walk alongside you, I shall not be there holding your hand, I will be gone long before the fall, Dust in the history of your apocalypse. I really do not fit in with this world, I have seen its true and blackest face, The time has come for me to go away It is time for me to abstain. So why don't you do it? Go ahead, pull the plug. I am dying here on this bed anyway, Life syphoned slowly from my veins. You know what I wish for, Do it, pull the plug. Let me go away from this bed of nails, Allow me to ascend to my true fate. I have drifted through the sludge of society, I have swam against the tide of futility, But now I want to sink, rather than swim, So let me go, pull the plug. |

Yo Pestillence, I'd swing this more toward the third person, and get away from all the "I"s. Bobby |

Never give in! Powerful poem. Yet, believe me you DO fit into this world. No one is here without a reason. Love, Margherita |

Some claim the 'after' phase of one's 'life-journey' is the best part. I'm not convinced. My intentions are to stick around longer, watch brilliant yellow sunflowers wave their majestic heads, then spill their bountiful seeds of life for the birds, squirrels, and save some for personal indulgences. Not to mention, I haven't heard enough bird songs yet to fill my ears for the next leg of the trip. Hope you can enjoy a pleasant year. |
