She sifts through choking dust and debris, seeking some solace from the constant noise and terror. It is cold today. She sees a helping hand reaching out from the rubble. It is Amir's now-lifeless limb, still clutching his favorite blanket. She tugs at it, pulls it free to wrap herself from the chill. Nearby, a neighbor cries to Allah as he holds his youngest child, dead. Meanwhile, rockets continue to bombard back and forth, from land and sea, the skies above. Gaza, Ashkelon, Sderot. Life is in peril each moment. It is very cold today. Diversity is the rule of Nature, the truth of all that exists in the Universe. Until we accept and act upon the principles of the Oneness of all, war will plague this planet. I fear for all living creatures, for we don't seem to be willing to embrace this truth yet. |

Thank you for this compassionate, melancholic write, that besides the chills, induces us to intensify our prayers and actions towards the true growth of awareness of our being One. We may be still far away from the goal, but we can't deny that we are on the Path. With war and death, as the result of reciprocal hatred, offered to our eyes and consciousness, we need to accelerate the process of awakening, in the interest of all involved: humanity. Thank you! I watched Paradise Now, a film that explores the motives of two Palestine suicide bombers, recently and feel the utter hopelessness of the entire situation. when will peace come? thanks for relating our sentiments for posterity |

Until then, when understanding fails, there will be war. When the time is right, the loudest engines of war can be silenced by the sound of a single voice. |

What you say is so true, Kacy. One wonders when we'll all wake up because we do have to ALL wake up before there will be peace. I have difficulty in imagining such a thing being possible but know that if I don't imagine it and feel it, it can never be. Love Helen |

Obviously a most timely (and effective) 'write'! ... [but, it is also grand statement of several essential premises of both philosophical and scientific "Universalism"... for example, the infinitely nested 'connectedness' of all plus the tolerance and celebration of diversity!] VERY well done ... loud and sustained applause for this 'penning'! |

Thank you each, for taking time to read and reply to this particular post, which was personal and painful for me in so many ways after having lived in Israel for a year, making friends with both Israelis and Arabs. I've lost some of these friends over the years, and each bomb seems to target my spirit and hopes for peace. Still, we must continue to work for peaceful resolutions to all global conflict, in the hopes that someday the message Diversity=Unity=the one True Universe will be embraced by all people on Earth. |

The key word of this whole write was the last one, yet. It has and remains the one constant in our history, as well as, our future. Kacy, I work in an elementary school that is called an International school in its name because the children together speak over 30 different dialects or languages. If only those in charge could see how well children can get along with one another at young ages... "hate" is learned. M |

With so much to share and be grateful for, I do understand the slaughter and devastation in the name of Allah or God. Religious wars they say, but the creator's principle is love....to war in the name of love???? My heart quakes at the lack of compassion in those who perpetrate such monstrosity against life. A friend of mine was telling me just the other day, the percentages of civilians killed in the wars of the world. To say the numbers are appalling doesn't even begin to approach the ugliness or the hypocrisy of war mongers who sit behind their selfishness in white ties, never touched in the bloodshed they perpetrate in the name of Peace. You do write powerfully and painfully of Gaia's gnashing and weeping. ~Karen  |

K, Oh, what a typo in the first sentence ..."do"...I know that you meant "don't." Yes, it's impossible to understand and absorb/process emotionally the horrific agendas humans perpetuate in the name of any 'sacred' entity. Thanks for reading. Peace to you, friend. |

A poignant and moving poem Midnitesun. In your poetry I see a very profound grasp of the laws of nature and how mankind is not exempt from these laws. Indeed diversity is nature's beauty and strength and so should it be mankind's. Never sigh for a better world, it's already composed, played and told. |
