Curious indeed and ... strange, why do I see a dog's face packed in raven's feathers!! The one in flight has a wonderful silhouette! You are such a cute girl, so talented! Love, Margherita |

My usual maxim is that a poem of any sort must stand or fall on its words alone but this fine haiku is definitely enhanced by the photo. Excellent. |

Alison - opened this one up and was nicely surprised. Those Ravens are something else. At times I believe they do watch to see what we're doing. Very nicely done... BC |

Thank you, Mark, Rick and yann. You all made me smile - and I do so love to smile. D - That's exactly what he was doing. He was peering into the back of a truck when I took this. So, I told him if he would let me take his picture you would bring the pizza! Thanks, SEA Doll. Chalmette Guy, if it is any consolation. I can't see it from my work computer either. Hope that you did get to see it finally. Margherita, thank you so much. Here's my secret (don't tell anyone now, okay?). That is the same bird. I added him in again because it just looked right. I got him flying off when someone drove by with their stereo blaring in their car. He don't like rap! Love you. Bruce, thank you much. Your opinion matters. Dixie, thank you, girly. Hey, Larry! Thanks for reading. Yep, Turtle, I have read that one too. This raven said it was over-rated from a raven's stand point. But, that was his ego talking - not mine. Thank you, Tina. David, thank you. It might work because the pictures are mine too. I think when I combine the mediums it often works for that reason. It works for me when I am relaxing at night any way. Welcome back. Blues Serenade - thank you. KrawDad -- exactly! Sue & Bill - thank you both very much. I am truly glad that you enjoyed. -- Again to all -- my appreciation for the time that you take to let me know your thoughts. Alison |

Yo Alison, Nice poem and picture of ravens. I can walk from my house down to the house where Edgar Allen Poe wrote "The Raven", down around Seventh and Spring Garden Streets. All Philly kids have to learn "The Raven" by heart. Love Bobby |

I enjoyed this. I think the poem can stand alone, should you wish it to. I'd like to be able to see the photo without the poem, simply to get a chance to enjoy it as a photo, no crit implied. I simply think it'd look great. I think it was Richard Wilbur that I once saw write a poem out of a series of haiku. This poem is complete in itself of course, but I wonder what you think of Wilbur and his work. Folks don't talk about him much any more, and I think that's a very great shame since he's such a great poem (I meant "poet," but I like "poem" when talking about Wilbur as well, so I haven't taken it out) and a great formalist as well. All my best, Bob Kaven [This message has been edited by Bob K (08-04-2009 01:29 AM).] |

Bob, Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. Honestly, I have not read Wilbur's work - but will now that you have told me of him. I'll be happy to share my thoughts. The picture with no words is on its way (via email) to you. Thank you again. Alison |
