They were a dignified pair. The dog napping on the contents of the shopping cart and an older woman sitting beside the cart, on a low brick wall... resting. I spotted them as I pulled out of the mini-mart and I had to stop. I asked the woman if I could take a picture of her dog. She said I could. I took the picture and made a fuss over him. He was a friendly little dog. I told her he reminded me of a dog I once had. (A little white lie) I ask if she would mind if I bought him a little treat. She smiled a shy smile and I gave her all the money I could spare, just to make sure the dog had enough food... to share. Ida Werrett |

This is so vivid, dear Ida! I felt three emotions in one, as if I alternatively was you, the lady and even the dog experiencing this event. There is that kind of dignity that wouldn't admit asking anything, it requires an Ida personality to share in such a delicate, sensitive way!
