As the eagle flies

As I spread my wings to the four winds, I wait,
For the warm air to lift me up high,
My wing span stretches for six feet or more,
I rise and rise as the warm air,
Catches my outstretched feathers,

I was born to live in the air streams,
My body weightless and refined,
Eyes as sharp as a razor, for hunting
I live my life on the wing,
Sometimes never landing just defying the wind,

My screech can be heard for ever, the nightmare,
Of every mans waking dream,
I see my pray in the distance and swoop,
Flawlessly catching the fleeing rabbit,
And then rising up to as far as the eagle flies.

I always enjoyed watching eagles fishing. They swoop and dive, and yes...screech quite loudly!

I felt a sense of peace and happiness soaring upward with the eagle on warmth, and the awakening cold intensity of the raging flight down from the great heights seizing that delicious rabbit.

Enjoyed the duality of ascension and descending feeling as I read your poem.

I enjoyed your poem tremendously.
