The stars were shining too brightly And the sky was much too lovely It's not my fault there was a breeze carrying the sweet scent of lillies. You see, I'm only human I could not control that sunset Truly it was the most beautiful ever seen My eyes were blinded by twilight. And then he turned to face me And then our lips embraced How gentle the momment was So sweet and secret. Never have I been so in love His gaze burned into my eyes. Were those tears I saw? And so I had to let him Do what he so wanted. Because the grass was so soft on my toes. My emotions overbearing. I hope you can understand That it wasn't my fault, or his The only fault was of the sky For never should anything be so fair I don't regret a single thing Please realize this Now my end is coming near Don't think I haven't pondered. I would never go back and change what I did I'm grateful to have had A glimpse of something utterly pure A momment in heaven. ------------------ "They sing the stories of the present, of people trapped in a shadow world" ~Charlotte Seley~ |

Beautiful Raven, simply beautiful. Your words flowed exquisitely. Keep up the great work! ------------------ *Krista Knutson* I see the world through the loving eyes of my heart, and suffer the pain of unfulfilled visions. -- Daniel L. Miller |

Thank you Alwye , I don't get to come here often now with school and all. Piggy-I wrote this poem for a good friend of mine who died of AIDS which she got from her boyfriend. While she was dying, she told me she had "no regrets", and then she said "Jackie, I know someday you'll be a poet, please, write of my story, won't you?" So I did my best, and this is it. ------------------ "They sing the stories of the present, of people trapped in a shadow world" ~Charlotte Seley~ |
