"Tomato Field" - by Ryan Schellenberg Her smooth creamy skin had a heartbeat all its own and was not confined to her person it seemed; Her glowing light was shared with the air, the land; and all that she touched seemed to exist in the climax of infinite; It lived for that tactile reality breathing one perfect breath and never ever again after her presence was felt could it feel anything at all; I wish her soul had never ventured across the void to lightly graze my eyes leaving an impression of beauty and the sting of a mortal wound; now the powers that exist have pulled me to a different plane hundreds of miles from that year and unnumbered classrooms between; I eat, sleep, breathe with the constant pang of a dead grey fetus suspended in my abdomen clawing at my sanity and reminding me of all the things I will never regain |
