I feel myself trembling as I hear him grow near, too overwhelmed by the tight grip of fear, I hear him getting closer, but I can't seem to run, I'm the last an fianl stop before his job is done. I will not go easy into the dying light, I won't let him take me into the blackened night. But as death's solemn gaze fell sadly to my face, My soul was gripped with sorrow upon his cold embrace. For the only thing death wanted was what I'd tried to flee, Poor death was doomed to roam the earth for all eternity. |
