A far, far away land |

When the years roll by like the stars, The ground is darkened by passing clouds In this aerial peacefulness, winds blow forevermore Earthly eyes are very few, long to come The calmness makes one want to cry. It's such that even the barren soil Is full of ancient wonders--- The clouds can be heard rolling past One feels as young as the ocean waters Yet as old as the stars that shine brightly. It's a lonely world but a happy one Lie on the grass and you can sleep--- There's no sorrow in laughing or crying Nor is there the sadness in happiness, For the seraphim are your best friends. This is a land of God I've often dreamed about! The ethereal love is divine from one so high, It is unimaginable yet imaginable, It is unwritable yet writable. So sovereign is this world it's distant Yet so close when felt in the heart. The days of renown old. I still wonder. ........................................................................................ What do you think this poem is about, and why? |

I'm not very good at doing this, but I think (though I might be wrong) this poem is about life after life. A soal living in God's promised land, the land it so often dreamed about, but never could imagen how it felt to live there. So, now after this soal lived it's life on earth, it's travelling through the heavens, feeling peacefull, calm, and happy. I can see it...in my imagenation, but it's hard to put in words. This is what I think. |

Thank you, Tear, for being the only one to answer this.... I had several recurring dreams on Eden, or paradise on earth. I had to put it down in words so that is what I did.... I really appreciate your thoughts, and if you keep trying to guess the meaning of a poem, you'll only improve. |

*sigh* Any more comments? ------------------ *Tinfang Gelion* .......................................... Such players have there only been thrice in all Elfinesse, I ween; Tinfang Gelion who still the moon enchants on summer nights of June and kindles the pale firstling star; and he who harps upon the far forgotten beaches and dark shores where western foam for ever roars, Maglor whose voice is like the sea; and Dairon, mightiest of the three. by JRR Tolkien in The Lays of Beleriand: The History of Middle-earth |
