Always was...and you find this to be new information?

No kidding.  I was the skinniest kid in school, and my shyness didn't help.  Of course today, skinny is in, but now I'm not...

go.....Figure!

I think....you need to write us a knock-'em-silly poem!

Oh yes, actually to be overly popular in school can be the worst thing to happen to someone. How terrible to think that is the only time you'll be on top? That that could be the best time you'll ever have? Yuck.

Yes!  It is!

I was unpopular for years and hated it.  Then one day I realized how brainless and conformist all the most popular people are, and decided to stop caring and go my own way.  Strangely enough I soon found that people started wanting to hang out with me.  Of course they had bad timing 'cause I wanted nothing to do with any of them...

Popularity blows.  Go your own way.

I'm glad you're not dumping your real friends, Kellie...

One of my BEST friends is from high school...funny thing...our classes never matched, we rarely spent time together in high school...but she is the one person that has "been there" for the last some [ah, several] decades...

I was always popular in highschool. It was great. I wasn't the mean popular kid though, I was just real nice to everybody. It was definitely great, but it's not everything.

I'd just like to say......it isn't bad.
Some people just happen to become popular because of their beautiful personalities (not me haha, im talking about some of my friends). So yeah....it's not everything, but it doesn't have to be bashed.

I believe I would dump the new group of friends...and  stick with those whom you have trusted for years.

Yah, popular people don't need to be bashed. I have a friend who I've known all my life. She is abnormally popular, and I am the school's biggest geek. However, we're great friends, and we even benefit from different positions, because of the different point of view. *shrug* However, from what I hear from her, she's the exception. I wouldn't know. I'm proud to be a geek.

Ooh... look up geek at dictionary.com... hehehe... too cool.

Popularity, in and of itself, can be a wonderful experience--even joyful. Being with others with whom you resonate and relate well, can add to one's sense of well-being and harmony---BUT, and that to me is a very BIG BUT, what is the character of the people with whom one is popular? That is the question...

Warm hugs Dear One,
