ok.. real email response to Trained to Smile.. by Graham.. can you believe this?hah You should have seen my reply.. as I pasted Maya Angelo's poem "I rise".. and sent it back saying.. gee maybe Maya didn't read that rule.. hahaha You will see that we tend to like the shorter, one page poems. As well, I can't think of a piece that we've accepted that rhymed. Rhyming went out at the turn of the last century. ------------------ Kay-lynn **A dream is a wish your heart makes :) |

I've run into this problem also, most editors are not looking for poetry that rhymes |

Yes, I've found that too. I don't know why though! Perhaps it's just a passing fad for them and soon will get back their taste for rhyme! ------------------ Denise |

Rhyming poetry is a favorite with the public. The publishers don't like it at all.. but then who reads/buys poetry books? Maybe we should start our own publishing company? Passions in Publishing! In fact, I'm going to copy this into the suggestion box! |
