I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to Ron for this wonderful place called Passions...I could have had a major catastrophe on my hands this past week, had it not been for my posting my work at this site...let me explain: I'm not quite sure why, but I had the "good" version of my poems stored on one little floppy disk, not backed up on hard drive, or even another floppy! I really don't know why, I just didn't... ...anyway, last week, as I was in the process of saving my work to the disk, it informed me that the disk was "corrupt." I am still missing some vital info on that disk, which a friend is in the process of recovering (I hope), BUT, because a lot of my work is here in Passions, all I had to do was come in and copy it back to my files. So, thank you, Ron, for all of your dedication to this site, just so we can have a place to post our poetry, read other poets' work, and interact with other poets. You definitely are the best!! Thanks, all, for listening to my expression of gratitude!! sp I hopelessly, helplessly, wonder why |

I hope you're able to recover the rest of your information too Snowpants, that must have been frusterating. Thank goodness you had your poetry accessible from here. And thanks for reminding me that it's time for a backup of my own. |

I agree, and send thanks to Ron as well. Glad you could find your poems. What a nightmare if not! Sandra |

This is indeed a haven, a home, and a sanctuary for our poetry...in one form or another! A good and timely tip to BACK UP YOUR WORK, everyone! |

I know, call me old fashioned, but I back mine up on paper. Yes, remember that? I do use a floppy as well, but since I have a poetry web site, I really don't run much risk of losing my work. In other words, my poetry is stored on paper, a floppy and at my web site. Sound like too much work? Not really. However, I do have a half inch of poems on paper that need to be put on my web site and since I usually write at least one poem a day, the stack is only getting thicker. Hey, I said it wasn't a lot of work, didn't I? I was wrong. HELP!! Just call me Rambling Michael. Ron has built a good home for us here and Ron, I give you my thanks. You've done and are doing such a good job here. Please know that your work is much appreciated. Michael PS-Has anyone seen some of my poems? I was sure they were here somewhere... (only kidding) Michael Auguste~ |
