listening to
U2
again
Peace on Earth...
it always comes back to this
whatever we do, whatever we think
if we cannot move towards Peace on Earth
then we deserve to have all the monsters of the Universe

devour us
spit us out

then walk away

start over again

but perhaps,
we have a chance to prevail?????

(what about Darfur, for example???_

the coming together of so many
to help the victims of tsunami...
what if we all came together every day
in every way
for ALL the disasters we encounter
for every human ever born

Peace on Earth?
isn't it worth whatever it takes?

This week marks the first time in 49(?) years since the guns have been silent in Sudan. A PEACE agreement has been signed, and perhaps now, the children will have a chance to survive, and thrive.

Peace happens.

Hopefully it will last.  It took a stalemate for logic to set in, but better late than never.  Here's to their hope of a future of peace.

“Peace on Earth?
isn't it worth whatever it takes?”

Is it worth absolute obedience
and submission?

I could have peace with my father if I sunk to his standards and okayed things that I know are wrong. If I stopped standing up for what was right. No, peace isn't worth whatever it takes. It is, however, worth a lot.

I hope this peace lasts.

peace, to me, is not the same thing as submission, and doesn't require one to submit to absolute control by anyone, especially those who take unfair advantage of the individual
I don't have to submit to every whim of yours in order to maintain a peaceful coexistence

"I don't have to submit to every whim of yours in order to maintain a peaceful coexistence"

you're exactly right kacy, of course.but in my time, i've find it applies more to group situations than it does to individuals.still, its better to try then not.
