So maybe you should wear your sunglasses at night... um, no, different theme... Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has ever made a "connection" with someone they didn't know. The kind of connection you get when two strangers glance at each other and are somehow drawn in. A moment where you live a lifetime in the eyes of someone you've never met before. And if so, do you think it's a good idea to approach hat person, or are the wandering fantasies you conjure in your mind better left as that. Or are you taking a great chance at missing an incredible opportunity? |

Ya know Christopher I often wondered about this myself. I sometimes get a weird feeling that this other person could be a great friend in one way or another. Once in awhile I will approach them on some pretext or another and have because of this made two really incredible friends (one being my husband) but the same thing happened with my ex and things did not work out well at all. Now I am more cautious and if I encounter the same person more than once I will try to strike up a conversation but for all I know it could just be the pheromones *sigh* Poetry~ Words falling on paper, painting a dream. well I have stolen glances at people and caught my life reflected in their eyes it was almost like mind reading perhaps, I'll never know it gives me the most uncomfortable feeling that they can read my mind as well and I scurry away protecting all my little life's secrets ~*Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, and ends with a tear*~ |

Christopher--if those connections never occurred, i think i would die of lonliness. But the answers to your questions are yeses, i think. Yes it's a good idea to approach that person--it's the only way to find out. And yes, the wandering fantasies conjured (that's a beautiful phrase, by the way) are always better. We control our fantasies-- people in real life are a little less flexible. And yes, of course, you're taking a chance--either way. But GO FOR IT! How else will you ever know? Let me know how it turns out--like everybody else here, i am a hopeless romantic. |

Yes..it has happened to me...a flash of recognition in a strangers eyes and a moment is lost if you don't act immediately. Unfortunately, I'm not an impulsive person when it comes to these things....and the moment and the man passed..but I thought about him for a long time. |

Chris - I make a connection like that at least twice a week... Believe me, they are all opportunities...LOL In all seriousness, I would never let a chance as such slip by - I could never live with the "what ifs". Michael |

They are all oppurtunities.... you should read the book "The Celestine Prophecy" by: James Redfield and then ask yourself that question again.... it's a good read. ) |

Indeed, go for it. What have you got to lose, except your sanity if you don't? Pondering only steals away possiblilty. - flounderingFemme |

YOu know what I say. THese stolen glances that bring all sorts of emotions are better left as a mystery. Who knows this total stranger that has just woken a multitude of feelings in just one glance might just be the person that will break your heart. I think its much safer to leave it as a stolen glance. Besides these initial feelings could be mistaken for something that they're not. Words like violence Break the silence M.L. Gore |
