Gosh, going through all the older posts of mine makes me feel this undeniable nostalgia. I really can't remember ever feeling that young, and I've been writing here off and on since 2003, where did the time go? I feel kind of embarrassed, to be honest, by some of my poetry and posts. Is that normal? I can't really fathom some of the thoughts I had. lol Anyone else feel weird thinking about their past thoughts and poetry? Do you feel you have grown? |

quote: Absolutely...both inwardly and outwardly and with some panache, as I'm sure you have as well. Thank goodness we have a place to post our "now" feelings, so we can come back and see just how much we've "grown". I think it's wonderful! So write some new stuff, already; and if you have, I'll find it! |

I was actually wondering about this before I stumbled upon this. LOL. In my resent poem, my friend, Alison told me that I have imporved as a writer since I came on here to write. That's when I noticed how long I have been writing. A whole 2, maybe 3 years or so.. I went back and looked at some of my old work and what I wrote was so horrible compaired to now. Embarrased? Indeed I was. But in a good kind of way. Gosh its been a long time. Sorta makes me feel old, even though I'm only 15. LOL -Zach I love my crayons. :D lol |

Really? I started writing here when I was like, 17 I think. I'm 24 now, almost 25. It's amazing how time flies, and I do think I've improved as much as any writer can say of their own work of course.. Keep on writing, then, and you'll look back at now later on and still revel in your progress... I guess it has a lot to do about life experiences too. Ah well.. |

I'll answer your question first... Yes. I look back on my own stuff from years ago and I literally cringe..then I admonish myself for being such a little twit.. on certain levels, I grew up here even though I was in my 30's... but here is what I really wanted to say..I was completely taken by your intellect and skills when you were 17..and yes it's inevitable that we grow or we are not learning from life..so I knew then that you would actually get better than you already were and that made me smile with anticipation... you have not diminished any of that, not one bit. Susan, You are absolutely too kind. I have always really enjoyed your work and your use of metaphor has only gotten better over time, but it wouldn't have needed to for me to enjoy it. Thank you for appreciating my work. I feel like without PIP I wouldn't have continued to write as often, therefore I might not have improved upon anything. It has been a huge privilege and learning experience for me. |
