I'd just like to have all of your thoughts with me. My Grandfather passed away last night. He was a 84 years old. I know he is fortunate to have lived that long, and am sure of the fact that he is in Heaven right now because of his faith in God. Though I suspected something would happen to him soon, we still can never prepare ourselves properly for the passing of a loved one. I know this is an odd request, but if anyone has any happy memories of a loved one passed away, please share them. As for one of my many favorite memories of my Grandfather...He loved to dance, and whistled EVERYWHERE he went. Dream Sweetly Dear friends...one more thing to add.. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is for anyone...Don't hold grudges, especially on your parents. In the end, you'll have to live with it. It will be your burden and not theirs to bear if anything happens. Could you really handle it? Think about it. Guilt ridden is not a way to live life now is it? |

My wishes for peace and comfort go out to you, my friend. May you find solace in celebrating his memory. In regard to your request for happy memories, there is my "To Capture Peace," posted in Prose. I cannot remember if you have read it. ((hugs)) --Kess You cannot choose the way of your death, but the path you choose will determine its own end. |

I'm sorry for your loss Temptress, and I agree that we are never prepared to lose someone so close to us.My prayers and thoughts are with you. As for memories...here is one of my favorites. When I was in grade school, my grandparents lived downstairs from us in a two family home. It was a very happy time in my life and I loved them so. My Grandmother decided one day that she would teach me how to braid her long hair.I learned that day and then a ritual was formed. Before going to school every morning, I would go downstairs and brush and braid Grandma's hair. She smelled of lilac and I loved doing it....it became our special time together. She would always compliment me and tell me that no one could ever braid better than I. She made me feel confident and special... and happy.. I, as Caroline thank you for reminding me of this precious memory.... |

My prayers are with you and your family at this time of loss. Request of memories....there are so many! My favorite memory of my maternal grandmother was when I was about 8 and I had decided to bake her a cake for her birthday. I got the box and read the instructions and got the cake done okay but when I made the frosting I thought it would be real good with chopped up hot dogs cuz my granny put hot dogs in just about everything. She was very surprised at the cake and even more surprised at the frosting. Being the gracious Lady that she was she complimented me very highly. I thought it tasted funny. I sure do miss my granny....thanks for invoking a few memories. Poetry~ Words falling on paper, painting a dream. Shawna R. Holder Boise, Idaho |

i am sorry for your loss and my prayers are with you. There are so many wonderful memories i have of my grandmother who passed away four years ago. She was such a happy and feisty little old lady! ![]() And when I was little I used to find wigs in her closet and wear them all around her house. The funny thing was, that I never knew she actually wore these wigs until a few years later when I stayed over at her house. I got up before her and when she came out of her room the wig was sitting crooked on her head. ![]() But my greatest memory of her was her strength at holding her family together and putting us all first. She was a single mother of six and remained single throughout her life. And was still able to keep up with 13 grandchildren. She was the most amazing person I've known, next to my own mother. I miss her dearly! Thank for the opportunity to share these wonderful memories! |

Hugs for your loss Temptress...that's really sad. Age doesn't matter to the ones that are left behind. My Pop, who died 3 years ago, was a kind, gentle man. He had one leg amputated and walked with two sticks. I remember that every time I went to visit my grandparents, I would play with Pop in the beautiful garden - colourful and exquisitely maintained no matter the season. I would kneel with a flourish in front of him and he would 'knight' me with his sticks and I would prance off, a fairy queen (they were knighted of course!!!) into the garden kingdom. ![]() Thankyou for sharing this, Temptress. May God give you His peace and comfort in your time of loss. Death only postpones for a short time the communion of His saints. |

Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers. I'd leave a longer message or perhaps a poem if I had the heart to do so right now. Perhaps I cannot use my talents properly as of late because I'm being punished for not using them for God's work. This is something I must think on, and maybe anyone else having the same trouble might contemplate also. Good day, friends. |
