Have you ever got to the point where you just can't feel anything anymore? As if you've taken so much and can't take anymore. It's sort of like a major shutdown. Nothing hurts no matter if you hurt yourself or someone else does it. Nothing appeals to you. You don't even get angry. When you finally get to the point where you can't even cry...what do you do? Is there something wrong with you? It's been bugging me for quite a while now. Maybe it's just me but I'd sure like to know if there's anyone else who's dealt with it and knows how to snap out of...well being numb. |

My heart goes out to you, Kira. Yes, I've had that 'numb to life' feeling and I don't think one 'snaps' out of it. We have to allow time to heal while directing our minds to the positives. They may be lessons learned from bad experiences, the pleasures of someone or somethings dear, no longer available, knowledge gained from failures as we tried to achieve an aim, or perhaps just idle boredom. There's always a cup half full if we search to find it. Finding a way to help someone else is often the best way to rid ourselves of that useless feeling. I do pray this helps you as it's a real bummer to be stuck in that rut while life's clock ticks away. (((Hugs))), Rae |

I, too, have felt that way before. And I hid behind this computer for over a year. It helped me to write out my feelings of numbness but the best help was to get out of the house and do things that I enjoyed even if it meant forcing myself to take walks alone or sitting in the sunshine..watching clouds float by..anything but staying inside myself. Music also helped but the soft ballad kind...or if necessary the kind that brought back memories so I could "feel" again. Hope you feel better and remember others have felt that way too. But if it lasts long and keeps you from daily routine...you need to seek some help from somewhere other than on here. M |

Thank you all for sharing. I'm happy to know I'm not the only one out there. (And yet I feel bad that other people have to feel this way too) Pushing as hard as we can we try to get through life even after we've been through countless tragidies, we still find we have to move forward into the new day. ~True words from a dear friend of mine~ |

We must remember we're the keeper of our mind's gate. When dark thoughts enter, we can sweep them out by quickly turning to something positive. The longer we entertain those dark thoughts the more frequently they come, and longer they stay. You're rising above them, I'd bet. (((Hugs)))) Rae |

yes. I notice I become extremely self destructive. When ever those times have happened and I am past that stage, I make major life changes -Juju -Juju |
