Watching Idol tonight I realized that Katherine is a dead ringer for a former girlfriend and that Melissa is a close match to another. My neice had a baby girl today and named her (not after)the same name as another old flame. Out of curiosity I sat down and made a list of all the names -- wonderful ladies -- some were so brilliant they had the temerity to avoid me -- others I may have been better off without -- but, all wonderful still... I say to them thankyou for the time, the wonderful time -- for being you -- I truly still care, to some, I'm sorry it wasn't right -- I am a better man for having known them -- and diminished by their absence. Peace, love, happiness, and an interesting life and the pursuit of dreams to each unique one. And you're all better off sans moi... |

Willie would smile. My first daughter's name was Kathryn. Close enough. Reb? I love it when you bare your heart. |

Reb...I'm sure the quality of you that I see within this poem, is what got you those "girls" in the first place. |

Of the fact there IS a list I have no pride... but for each one on the list -- I have pride in what I saw in them and what they became, and to have been some part of their lives. Even to those who only 'used' me -- I'm -- glad to have been useful. sappy, sentimental, yeah.... but, if you can't be sappy and sentimental when you're older -- what good was it to be be born to be wild? |

Sappy and sentimental, maybe. But still a beautiful tribute. Wish I had said it. |

Sappy and sentimental is a good thing, by all means. And to think the women on your list inspired this little slice of life!! Wouldn't it be a hoot to hear what Simon Cowell had to say, or any of the judges for that matter. Paula would be gushing no doubt. My guess is you'd end up in the dog pound, hands down. Your thoughts are endearing, Reb~ I can almost hear the song playing. [This message has been edited by BluesSerenade (03-04-2006 12:19 AM).] |

this so totally inspired me into letting go of the past...to feel compassion and great love for all those I've known and for those who were not so nice to me, to feel for them, empathy at best. Good one...I liked. |

thanks to all for the undeserved compliments... I'm sure some of them would be quick to tell you about the devil on my other shoulder. |

Sir, "I'm not scholarly looking enough" is what you said about yourself. I said that you look like "American most wanted". |
