He's been there so many times before,
never faltering the consequences.
The paings of bruises still marking life
on wings awaiting another failed attempt to fly.
The door now placed before his sights again,
can he assume the distantly familiar respite
of this microcosm will recognize? remember? rekindle?
Never has an angel felt so vulnerable,
yet never likewise so wanting...
To be free again, amidst the truest of valors,
He dares open dark's door once more,
So much to share since shining through last.
He's always known;
The tribunal of the wise share his wanderings,
Share his wonderings for better or for worse.
For in the company of the beautifully scarred,
the door never shuts completely...
And the cracks imprinted in the grain of wood
share a common message to the continually wounded...
Where the wings aloft have failed you unto here,
the power of our souls in sharing will grant you
the flight you deserve...

Good Lord Purity, I have been waiting
for mine forever . . .

The paings of bruises still marking life
on wings awaiting another failed attempt to fly.

Wow....

I find it kind of funny, I find it kind of sad. The dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had. - Gary Jules, Mad World.

Thank you, both, very much. I have been away for over a year, but this forum always provided me inspiration and solace. This one was written for you... You are the Tribunal. The Door is the access afforded to the Dark Poetry forum. The angel? Could be me, could be any one of you. The message is the acceptance and welcome feeling always given by the members posting on this board. This poem is my praise to you all. You'll never know how much this site has meant to my life, personally and as a writer. I humbly bow and exuberantly applaud you all!

An AMAZING poem, and an awesome message. I love the wording here, Purity, and the complimentary nature hidden in the dark of the story. Good one here!

So, there you are!

Wondering whatever happened to you...Happy to see you back...happier still, to see this small wonder.

Interesting way of describing a shared affliction and the communal overcoming of that problem.
