Minus The Light

If you take a flower
lock it away
never let it see
the light of day
it will wilt
fade and die
no more beauty
to bless the eye.

Without the sunshine
nothing lives
oh for a time
it will give
then it just
gives it's all
it's petals crack
and start to fall.

You enjoyed it
then stole it's life
it couldn't live
minus the light.

Certainly true, unless it's a 'shroom', or some related vegetation.

Of course the same thing happens to all without water.

So we need the light and the living water to survive and thrive.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

wow, I know the feeling of this one, since I worked at night not long ago, every living thing does need light. Good one Anne.
