Listening to every heart

Sending Roots Down

silence is a vagrant soul
‘pon deeds hushed,
shushed
sending seeds of discontent
along the roadways,
wafted by
the winds of time

felt the remorse clearly
hearing the poet speak,
an eleventh generation easterner,
come west
but not all the way,
heard her comment on the
quilting of the local topography

something always seen
these last few decades
when people whiz
along
in their airbus of
“get me there faster”
but rarely noticed

eleventh generation easterner

my roots feel puny
and weakened by the
silence of a vagrant soul
so how is one to start
with just the parent
known

as if mythically there
and then in dust
gone

my tendrils reach out to touch
and slowly etch along the
marker of those whose roots
never really disappeared

mine but not mine
for the marriage binding
is not like the bindweed
that can take over
when no real blood is
shared

but when the real blood is gone
still the license remains that
one must tend, clean,
mark, note,

carry on

because the voices of now say
when I am gone, you must do this

for who will, if not those who
are left

so a little more nourishment of
what must be
is watered over these roots,
perhaps they will grow
in strength,
perhaps reach down like the
prairie grasses’ roots

take hold and take stock, for sometimes
a new generation is born only
of new hybrid seed

even when
silence was a vagrant soul
‘pon deeds hushed,
shushed
sending seeds of discontent
along the roadways,
wafted by
the winds of time

very cool employ of metaphor and theme here Sun ...
much to ponder in these thoughts and wisdom handed down thru the ages

Karilea~
From cup of ponder now I sip ~

'felt the remorse clearly

Neat !

Enjoying the quietude of this day ...
Have a happy !

Kari dear heart, Oh love how utterly perfect is this piece of writing. You have written some deep truths love

As I've been heard to say love you have a magic pen, because this is outstandingly wonderful work love.
