Interesting...hmmm...can't speak for anyone else, but I've written my share of trite as well...and politics seems to be everywhere. As well as jerks.

there was a poet new
did not know what to do
the words were not contrived
the thoughts were not high fived
they did try to ring true

Bright Star, I'm sure you directed this at politicos...and not at Passions....at least, that's how I read it....

sometimes poetry is very letting, and in this instance, if I read it right, you zinged them well....

I'm glad you're only talking about politicians, but sometimes people with high ideals enter politics you know. It's true that more often than not they are not the pleasantest of people but I believe in democracy. So having said that, everyone is worthwhile, everyone has a contribution to make, be true to your own self and you can change the way others see truth.
