Lifeless eyes
Alone she cries
Depression’s rise
Inside she dies.

Hearts pound
Souls drown
Never found
Misery’s crown.

Sleepless night
Nightmares fright
loss of might
See no light

Darkness comes
Confusion numbs
Lightning stuns
Away she runs

Hiding fear
a single tear
Desertion near
The end is here

Author's note:  Depression hits thousands of people every year.  It's effects are always different, but they do need help.  If you or someone you know has depression or something similar to that, don't stand by and watch it happen.  Help them in any way they need it or in any way that you can.

This is some great work cassers.  I like how you used such short lines and yet expressed so much in them.

Wow.......I'm knocked back with this...you
captured it all so very well, never have I
read a poem about depression more to the
point and honest before.  Excellent work!

WOW! This is powerful indeed.
Seems to be hitting a lot of people these days.
So glad you shared this with us!

No dancing around the fact here.  Depression is painful.  You expressed it very well Cassers dear.

I've known depression very well and I know that you have too my friend.  This is extremely powerful and really well written.  This style suits you well!

Unfortunately, I have battled depression and this is so well expressed and powerful.  It was haunting to read.

Take care,
