The Sword and the Salve

In the written word's warrant
lies the sword and the salve,
when the pen, in Truth's
time weathered fingers we have
placed, eager, such missives
for all yet to read.
The verses, sweet sonnets
of thought and of deed.

Though tenderly turned,
most sincerely seductive,
enchanting in timbre
and amorous octave,
still poets and prose
promise oft to unite us,
finding footfalls, our own,
'long the paths that divide us.

Dear LadyClaire

Claire~
As always your poetry has such an allure.
This is a fascinating piece.
How wonderful that we can share
one anothers 'paths'.

Speaks to the power of the written word to provoke and to heal, to comfort and to inspire. . .

Wonderful example my friend. . .

We share each others paths as we try to find our own...
Wonderfully written, we have been so fortunate to be allowed to share your path of poetic beauty.

Claire - well, well...just when I think I have found a favorite poem of yours, you pop up with another masterpiece!  You have a wonderful gift, not only for poetic expression, but for consistent quality.  You go, girl!

Mike, thank you...I know of nothing more artistically satisfying than to be given such words of praise from someone whose work I respect as much as I do yours. It's a thrill, to be sure.

Troy, thank you, in earnest, for such kindness. I'm glad you found this poem to your liking.
