Courage Deserted Me Then ...

So many thoughts I'd wanted to share,
So many feelings I kept hidden inside,
They stayed secrets - rejection feared,
Not wanting to hurt my foolish pride.

I knew not how to express my love,
Or how to show the insides of my heart,
I feared that you would push and shove,
Asking me to go away, tearing me apart.

I always wanted to hold you close,
and lose myself deep in your eyes,
Wanted to sing a song I composed,
To make you believe I spoke no lies.

I wanted to see a smiling happy you,
And share your times of gladness,
Wanted to be there to protect you,
To comfort you through your sadness.

All said but there was nothing I did,
Feeling a total lack of courage,
Looking back this day, I feel stupid -
Nothing left but moral outrage!

But my love for you remains eternal,
My yearning for you exists as always;
To find light at the end of the tunnel,
I hope, in this life's lonesome highway.

~

Such powerful emotions in this wonderful verse Sudhir ... and the closing is so beautifully stated:

"To find light at the end of the tunnel,
I hope, in this life's lonesome highway."

Oh, it's so lovely to have you here again ... please do keep visiting!

Best wishes,
/Kit

It is indeed nice to have you visit!  Exellent work here, a tinge of sadness, but a tinge of hope too...I enjoyed!

Sudhir, Ive been gone for awhile and so I almost missed this one.  I really can relate to this one because I am allways the shy nice guy who is afraid to act on his feelings.  Very well expressed indeed.
