Fair to middlin' of nowhere

She dropped her guard
and it broke
into reasons
only she understood
Maybe it was just
the then
of her going through
that sought
nepenthe means
to an end
of that empty
that haunts her
Intoxication numbing
the knot of naught
she easily lost herself
in his heart

Beautifully rendered, Lori. You do have a way with the English language I find wonderfully refreshing.

The gaurd gets weakened and comes down to fill the needs of the gaurded and another gamble toss of the love dice.....I maybe all wrong but I surely had fun being wrong.....
Good stuff as usual Lori

I love this poem...the line I love the most is...
"she easily lost herself
in his heart"...that is the true dream...to loose oneself in his heart...

*may our dreams ever be magical*

I think Homer would be awestruck with this poem, finding his "Odyssey" has had its work done very well.

Loved the read, Lori.

Thank you very much JL. Your reference to Homer and the Odyssey went right over my head but it sounded good.

Lori,
"nepenthe" used in Homers Odyssey.
"That which chases away sorrow"

Sorry for not making myself clear, but that's me, clear as mud.  (Muddy-Water)...

I did enjoy your poem.

HOW IN THE NAME OF THOR'S HOLY HAMMER DID I MISS YOUR WRITING BEFORE?????

This is very much enjoyed, and has brought me to the table of your fandom...

I will definitely be going back to read more of your thoughts. I might not reply to them; however, I will be reading them.

Dear Lori, you have a way of creating poetic images and make them so deeply thought provoking.

Excellent work.

Hah! That's one way of putting it, Lori, and you drove your point home big time.
