Fast Company
By: Noah Eaton
7/25/05

She rolls with heels on fire,
she burns rubber on the make,
smoother than a Maserati 450S,
faster than Tallagea Speedway,
love tappin’ hearts left and right,
no one can seem to keep up with her,
she’s laid a patch across my heart,
droppin’ the rag on all my desires.

Now my heart’s blazed through the wind tunnel,
she’s got my heart poppin’ the clutch,
she’s got me on the groove,
all jacked up on her hot love.

She’s electric heaven on wheels,
she revs my heartbeat rate from 72 to 150,
she feels the need for speed,
she’s sexy, sweet fast company.

We spend happy hour,
playing back seat bingo,
fully loaded on bent eight love,
tempted by "Little Deuce Coup" on the radio,
she loves being in control,
we’re in for the ride of our lives,
nothing can stop us now,
we’re just too hot for the pole position life.

She got me spinning on a chassis roll,
straight to her classy chassis,
I’m gonna show her what I’m made of,
kiss her mouth so hot her lips simmer like molasses.

She’s electric heaven on wheels,
she revs my heartbeat rate from 72 to 150,
she feels the need for speed,
she’s sexy, sweet fast company.

She’s a wild girl on circuit,
she’s passion pit adherent,
she’s grace behind every turn,
checkered pasts are of no concern to her,
wild hearts, start your engines,
now that she’s caught your attention,
keep up with her and you’ll have it made,
poppin’ wheelies on through the victory lane!

She’s electric heaven on wheels,
she revs my heartbeat rate from 72 to 150,
she feels the need for speed,
she’s sexy, sweet fast company.

(Nothing can stop us now,
we’re just too hot for the pole position life!
Va vroom vroom!)

Yo Mistletoe Angel,

This is very clever, and well done.  I like it loads.

Are you sure you haven't been reincarnated?

you can't have lived through so much of what you write about...you are much too young

Awwwwwwwwww, thanks Robert!

I'm going to be volunteering at Portland International Speedway in August, so I felt like re-posting this summer anthem!

Yay, thanks Maureen!

LOL! I know just what you mean. To be honest, I do get that response a lot. I really do feel like I've been rejuvenated at least. I've had an amazing year so far, where I'm not even in love but I approach this day feeling as though I might as well be, with all this energy to accomplish anything.

So, in a way I do feel reincarnated; emerging like a phoenix after a difficult last two years and feeling more alive and happier than ever and, whereas before what I wrote and the life I lived seemed like two antipodal worlds, now I really feel like I'm living my poetry more or less for possibly the first time ever (well, okay, maybe not much of this song! )

Thanks soooooooooo much, my friend, have a wonderful week!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Awwwwwwwwwww, thanks Shel!

I guess I always feel most inspired when I write fun little ditties, because I feel so much art and literature today is dominated by somber, serious themes which, as important and valuable as much of it is, tends to take itself too seriously often, and I feel a lot of worthwhile, inspiring art comes out of being fun, and I am delighted to put the fun back in life's fundamentals!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Awwwwwwwwwwww, thanks Rae!

I always feel most proud of my work when I feel like I've successfully written that can be interpreted multiple ways, or have double/multiple meanings that don't come out too forcefully. I think this is one of my favorites re-posting annually because it is example to something I feel accomplishes just that: someone may read this as simply a cultural celebration of drag/stock car racing, while another person may read this as a sultry good lovin' summer song with the racing references more metaphorical. I just choose to leave it to the reader to decide what to make of it!

Yay, thanks soooooooooo much, dearest friend!
