Desire (watching Alfie)

If he was anything,
he was that; A man
needing the attention,
the affection of many women.
A man that couldn't wear just one hat.
Desire had become his policy, and desire
would consume all of his creative energy.
When did the loss of innocence begin?
What event created his obsession?
An obsession that didn't know
how to come to an end.
Who lights those kind of fires?
A fire where all thats required
is an excessive consummation
of lust and desire.
Whats it all about,
Alfie?

trying to figure out
what its all about.

Hmmmm - haven't seen the film - but perhaps desire is addictive if you cant' find the one person who compliments you ??

JamesMichael~
I saw it also this past weekend ...
THIS Alfie lacked substance to even carry the movie past the first 20 minutes with any character class (in my opinion)~

I stuck it out ... and still had to wonder 'what's it all about' ?
$$$$ ? ... must be it ... they got mine~ !

Thank you Aenimal, Susan, Marge and Ericc for the nice responses.
Actually I kind of enjoyed the movie, although my favorites as of late have been Asian movies...
I have seen the original with Michael Caine...the new one is the same on subject matters of desire but different in many ways...the movie seemed to be realistic in dealing with actions and consequences...James
