(Today I begin posting a new 30-poem set of mine I've titled "Language of Wildflowers" which are all a collected reflection of my young years living in Colorado.

The first fifteen poems in the set go under the name "Adonis Vernalis" which means "bitter memories" and are reflections of my childhood struggles, nightmares and sorrows. The final fifteen go under the name "Xeranthemum" which means "cheerfulness out of adversity" which are reflections of how I grew from the adversity to become the optimistic, upbeat, hopeful person I am now, who now sees promise and joy!

I feel this set is almost autobiographical, and can reveal to you all of the person I was and have become, yay!

Ever since I was a litle boy, I always loved walking into the meadows of the Rocky Mountains of Colorado to see the wildflowers, and so I feel the title is very metaphoric of my memories, as I believe we all are full of all sorts of memories and emotions, and it is the diversity of them that only make the poetry in our soul shimmer!

Hope you enjoy! )

Adonis Vernalis

In-between harrows of yarrow,
Under an umbrella of winter cherry,
You’ll find a missing child,
Clad in a grass skirt of misanthropy.

Who will reach out and hug my broken heart,
What will clear these broken straw illusions,
Delusions floating on the leaves?
Who will reach out and hug my broken heart,
Without a care in this world?
(Speak to me in a language I can hear)

Mascara of yesterday pigments the sky,
Impersonates off a harbor of subdued dreams,
I am a gamin of Adonis Vernalis,
The pensioner of bitter memories.

Who will reach out and hug my broken heart,
Here you never live an autumn,
It’s only yours for a day.
Who will reach out and hug my broken heart,
Without a care in this world?
(Speak to me in a language I can hear)

In this castle among the cypress,
I wear a nightdress of nightshade,
I can’t help but think beyond Adonis Vernalis,
There’s a saffron road to the Star of Bethelem,
But the ghosts tell me my best days have passed

Who will reach out and hug my broken heart,
Here you never live an autumn,
It’s only yours for a day.
Who will reach out and hug my broken heart,
Without a care in this world?
(Speak to me in a language I can hear)

There you’ll find me,
Behind a curtain of throatwort,
There you’ll find me,
The yellow tulip,
Of Adonis Vernalis...

"You'll find something that's enough to keep you
But if the bright lights don't receive you
You should turn yourself around and come back home" MB20

Can you mail the words to me.

davepage@dial.pipex.com

That depth I would like to read, but not on line.

Maybe www.davepage.dial.pipex.com could slot in the work since I have started a basic web site that will just take words but on a closed site for people to read.

regards

Dave

Some deep content Noah
Very well written and expressed as usual.

This is very reaching..
"Who will reach out and hug my broken heart,
Without a care in this world?
(Speak to me in a language I can hear)"

I grasped the idea quite well thanks for the stimulation.
