For elegance and pastel sentiments
please move forward to the sonnet gallery.
Turn left for Nature and right for Love.

What’s that, sir?  Adolescent angst
and all the dirty words
the little darlings can think of? God bless ’em.
Down that hall
and turn left.  You’ll see the steam
coming out the door.

Clever toasts
and sprightly sayings
are in our North Annex, ma’am.

No, not that door, ma’am,
no poetry through there.

That’s the reality section,
where babies go hungry
and even heroes bleed.

Wow!  Loved this - and the ending - the reality - that blew me away -

Thanks, Susan, that means the poem worked.  I was hoping it would.

Thanks, Susan.  I don't want it to happen either, but I only control the words-the reality section is beyond my control.  And sometimes beyond my understanding.

Sunshine-thanks! I never have time to come here anymore, but today has been a slow day so look where I am.

Cloud-can I climb up there with you? I've always wanted to see the view from Cloud9.

Lee, thanks so much for reading and taking the time to reply. I appreciate it more than you know.

I enjoy your unique style of poetry. You literally grab my attention with every write ~ and I know I'm bound to be in for a surprise ending!

You sprinkle your poems with flights of fantasy interspersed with doses of reality.
A neat write!

Loves 'n smiles,

Hey Marge-it's good to see you.  I haven't been around much, maybe I'll have some time this week to catch up.

EA-right back atya, girl.  I love your stuff, and you always give me a treat.
