Remembering ‘74 I remember when you were soft and wonderful beneath the lithe, suppleness of youth, and everyday we fell in love again, exploring ourselves, learning things we never knew. Today you’re soft and wonderful everywhere, in layers you never had before, and though we may not fall in love again, every day, I love you every morning, in the evening when we say goodnight – I love you in a way that gets stronger and stronger every time you look my way, you touch my hand; I love you as if you were still lithe and supple, and we were learning things brand new, I love the changes, the wrinkles, every strand of gray, the years, the layers, every day I open my eyes and see you there.
