Vocé

Have you ever wondered why silence hangs like a pall
Tangible in presence yet counted for naught?
In death it is natural and can be whispered away;
But, in life it is …?

Have you ever wondered why silence is ignored;
Despite the innocence it proclaims?
Truth is never held by those that shout and proclaim;
Rather, it is with …?

Have you ever wondered why we are so blind we will not hear
Forever seeking yet refusing to listen?
Fating ourselves to be souls alone in a sea of souls adrift;
Yet, wouldn’t you prefer …?

So with our decks of classic after dinner games we fill in time
In futile effort to dispel and ignore the quiet that could say it all.
For it always returns, refusing to be set aside, that space for Voice.
“...?...”

God bless and keep you, Namaste!

I love the quiet...but  filling them with "games" seems a nice touch.

i like those silent moments when the electricity between two people is enough to say it all....ive often "heard" thousands of words in a moment of silence.

enjoyed this read!

Christopher -- what an amazing work this is!  I particularly liked the pauses and blanks.
