in the shadows

The wind moves,
as I have moved it
a bell rings,
a thought shivers and awakes;
touch me
touch me not.

Walk with me
for a moment burning brightly,
lighting up the peasant's trail,
see the shadow
chase the dragon,
feel tomorrow's promised veil.

Time moves,
to stand rock still
life bubbles all around;
I am cold,
I feel my age
rings clear a warning;
touch me
touch me not.

The castle stands
long years abandoned,
its defenders sailing free
upon the waves of wonder
in a ship of fantasy.

"I am cold,
I feel my age
rings clear a warning;
touch me
touch me not."

makes me recall my youth and the daisy of love's me
loves me not

but there is more...moves me

Your bell rings clearly here. You've written in fine tones.

"The wind moves as I have moved it" ... I sometimes think someone else is moving the wind around me but perhaps not.  Perhaps the wind rises from somewhere deep inside to move and shake us "awake".  An excellent write as usual, Icebox.
