~*~

Lilacs
Swayed in May breeze,
Releasing the perfume
That lessened my pain on dark days.
I breathed the fragrance into my being,
Filling my soul with peace and love.
Memories of Springs past,
Flood my mind with
Lilacs.

Hello Linda

I couldn't agree more.  I just adore the heady scent of lilacs.  I hope all is well with you.

Take care......Sue

I have discovered that many of the traits of lilac-lovers, are those that really appeal to me in a person. They often are more spiritual, romantic, and giving people. The more that a person likes/loves lilacs, the more I seem to like/love them! I find that rather curious, but it just seems to work out that way!

P.S. How much do you like/love lilacs?

Without a doubt that was one of the sweetest replies that I have ever received! It put a smile on my Springy heart! That was very gracious of you! xo

Linda -

If a lilac bloomed into my heart,
valleys, mountains, and oceans
couldn't keep me apart...

If a red rose bloomed and a lilac smiled,
and the breeze was filled with its fragrance
I would know where it came from 10,000
miles from my heart...

I love lilac's, their fragrance, the softness of them...

Lilacs...oh how I miss them.  I grew up in Indiana and looked forward to the Lilacs every year...we don't have them in Florida.

God I love the smell of lilacs, I can smell a woman wearing lilac from 50 feet away in a crowded room.It is an intoxicating smell, and weakens my resolve.Very nice poem.

Oh Linda,

This is wonderful.  Perfect form, yet the poem itself so powerful and meaningful one forgets the form and can catch the scent. Lilacs and memories always seem go together.

A friend has one just now fully blossomed and I find it almost magical. The fragrance divine. Love them and this poem.

Hugs, Pat

Oh, my! No lilacs in Florida? I suppose it would be far too hot for their delicate constitutions. I can imagine how much you would miss them! I know what we could do about that! You could come visit me every spring when the lilacs are in full bloom!

Pat ~

I realize that a structured form such as this can take away from a poem, so I am very pleased that you do not feel that is the case with "Lilac Memories".

--You love lilacs too!?!--I knew there was something besides your poetry that I loved about you!

(jumps up and down in joy) Yay! Oh Linda, lilacs are one of my most favorite flowers as are daffodils, their perfume is soooooo angelic and we have near our patio in the garden a big lattice fence and many lilac bushes all around it! (kiss on cheek) The lilacs perfume always reminds me of my mom and sisters who I love sooooooo much, God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Linda, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shien upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
