Hope inward-cocooned spins through pain
and fights for air under despair.
A warrior, fortress, a castle, my God,
in adversity stands sedately secure.

But cry, seek pity, and compassions not mine.
I turn away, busy today, tomorrow, till when
nothing makes sense and nothing is left.

Then is it heaven to kneel in the dirt
and churn up and out the feeling of hope?
Perhaps it is hell, I can’t really tell,
both live in tandem and play “turn about”.

Hope, a trophy, a prize, medal, crown,
gathers dust on a shelf, hair from my head.
Somehow it breathes, somehow it moves,
and somehow it has incredible power
to come on out from under despair.

Hope – suffer me not to pull out my hair
or cover myself with dirty dust mites.
Don’t lead me astray, an easier way,
stand and deliver till hell bows to heaven!

Thanks!  I forgot to say that hope is also a dreamer so therefore sleeps a lot.

Hi Helen~
Your words are always full of hope
and the reality that we all do battle
with at one time or another.

I liked this especially~

Somehow it breathes, somehow it moves,
and somehow it has incredible power
to come on out from under despair.

So good to read you here woman,
now pull up a chair and stay
awhile why don't you~

Hi, my friend,

Yes, we battle many emotions in the process of growing and I'm not too sure if hope is one worth hanging on to or not.  It's not stable - it comes and it goes.     Thanks for the read.  Take care!
L, Helen.

Thank you, QjQ for taking the time to read and to comment.
